Question 1

What is the difference between fit, fill, and stretch on a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Fit keeps the aspect ratio and shows all content. Fill covers the new page and may clip. Stretch forces the box and can warp the page.

Question 2

Will resizing a PDF make the email attachment smaller?

Accepted Answer

Not by itself. This changes the page box. Compress pictures if the bytes are the problem.

Question 3

Why did Compress tell me to resize the PDF?

Accepted Answer

Compression rewrites pictures. It does not turn a poster-sized page into Letter. Use this page for the box, then compress if needed.

Question 4

Which PDF page sizes can I resize to?

Accepted Answer

Common standards such as Letter, Legal, A4, A3, A5, and Tabloid, depending on the control on the page.

Question 5

Does resize overwrite the original PDF?

Accepted Answer

No. You download a new copy.

Question 6

Will stretch ruin the look of a scanned contract?

Accepted Answer

It can. Prefer Fit if you need every word visible, or Fill if you can lose a sliver of margin.

Question 7

Can I resize only one page of a PDF?

Accepted Answer

The page box change applies across the file. Split out the odd sheet if only that page is the wrong size.

Question 8

Is resize the same as crop?

Accepted Answer

No. Crop trims margins on the current size. Resize targets a new paper size with fit, fill, or stretch.

Question 9

Does resizing keep selectable text?

Accepted Answer

Vector text usually stays selectable. A file that was already a picture stays a picture.

Question 10

Should I resize before or after I add page numbers?

Accepted Answer

Resize first so the numbers land on the final box.

Question 11

Can I set a custom millimeter size?

Accepted Answer

This page targets standard paper sizes. Crop after resize if you still need a tighter visible window.
