Question 1

Does DOCX to PDF run in the browser?

Accepted Answer

No. Word to PDF is rendered with LibreOffice on our servers for this request, then discarded. The .docx on disk is not overwritten. The reverse toggle, PDF to a basic DOCX, stays in the browser.

Question 2

Can I convert a .doc file, or only .docx?

Accepted Answer

This page is built for .docx. Save an older .doc as .docx first if the dropzone rejects it.

Question 3

Will the PDF look exactly like Word?

Accepted Answer

Close on simple documents. Complex layouts, fonts, and SmartArt can shift. Use desktop Word when a template is strict.

Question 4

Is this the reverse of PDF to Word?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in direction. Word to PDF is usually cleaner than PDF back to Word.

Question 5

Do Word comments appear in the PDF?

Accepted Answer

Usually not as a comment thread. Accept or delete comments in Word if they must be gone or visible as text.

Question 6

Can I convert several Word files at once?

Accepted Answer

Convert one .docx at a time here. Merge the resulting PDFs on the home page if you need one packet.

Question 7

Will macros run during DOCX to PDF?

Accepted Answer

No. Macros do not execute in this converter.

Question 8

Should I flatten the PDF after converting from Word?

Accepted Answer

Only if you then add live fields or annotations you want locked. A fresh Word export often has nothing to flatten.

Question 9

Can I turn the PDF back into a DOCX later?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on PDF to Word. Expect layout drift.

Question 10

Does this work with Google Docs?

Accepted Answer

Download the Doc as .docx, then drop that file here.

Question 11

Will fonts I do not have locally still print?

Accepted Answer

If the .docx embeds them, they often survive. Missing fonts may substitute.
