Can I start numbering a PDF at page 7?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Set the starting number to 7 if this file continues another packet.

Where can I place PDF page numbers?

You choose a position. Bottom center is typical. Move it if a footer already occupies that edge.

Question 4

Should I reorder pages before I add numbers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Numbers follow the order you have when you print them.

Accepted Answer

No. Download a new numbered copy.

Question 8

Can I number many PDFs at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with Batch PDF. Pick the page-number operation and drop several files.

Question 9

Do page numbers stay if I compress afterward?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Compression does not peel printed numbers off.

Not as a skip-page control on this page. Split the cover off, number the rest, then insert the cover again if you need a blank first sheet.

Question 11

Accepted Answer

The PDF already had printed numbers and you added another set. Use the original, or crop the old line if you own the file and the crop is safe.
