Question 1

What is the {left}_vs_{right}_compare.pdf file?

Accepted Answer

The pixel-diff download. Left and right are taken from the two file names you dropped. Those originals are not overwritten.

Question 2

Is PDF compare a tracked-changes redline?

Accepted Answer

No. It is a pixel diff. Moved text can flag as a whole block instead of a tidy insertion.

Question 3

Does compare upload the two PDFs?

Accepted Answer

No. The diff runs in the browser.

Question 4

Can I compare a Word file to a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Convert the Word file to PDF first, then diff the two PDFs.

Question 5

What if the two PDFs have different page counts?

Accepted Answer

Pages that exist on only one side cannot match. Expect large flags on extras.

Question 6

Should I compare before or after I watermark?

Accepted Answer

Either. Afterward, the stamp is one of the pixel changes.

Question 7

Can I compare more than two PDFs?

Accepted Answer

One pair at a time. Diff A vs B, then B vs C if you need a chain.

Question 8

Does compare ignore tiny anti-alias noise?

Accepted Answer

Treat it as a visual tool. Soft raster differences can still show.

Question 9

Will compare read the words and list insertions?

Accepted Answer

No. Use Extract Text or Chat on one file if you want a verbal answer.

Question 10

Do I need the same paper size on both files?

Accepted Answer

Different boxes will look like a full-page change. Resize first if that is noise.

Question 11

Is the compare PDF a third original?

Accepted Answer

It is a report. Keep the two source files as the real versions.
